At PHA Clubhouse, we love creating opportunities for members to connect, share, and grow. This month, we hosted something truly special: our very first tea party, planned and brought to life by the dynamic duo of Clubhouse member Brekke and staff member Verda. Together, they turned a simple idea into an unforgettable afternoon filled with laughter, learning, and a sense of community.

The tea party was more than just a chance to enjoy delicious treats—it was an experience that celebrated wellness, mindfulness, and the joys of sharing a meal with friends. Tea, as we know, has a host of benefits. It can help reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and even encourage moments of reflection. These themes fit perfectly with the supportive and uplifting environment we strive to foster at PHA Clubhouse.

Members were treated to Brekke’s homemade scones, which were nothing short of extraordinary. Paired with clotted cream and an assortment of preserves, each bite was a testament to her baking talent and the care she put into preparing for this event. Not to be outdone, Verda added her own culinary magic with classic cucumber and egg sandwiches, offering the perfect savory balance to the spread.

The table itself was a sight to behold. An array of beautiful teapots held a variety of teas, from soothing herbal blends to invigorating black teas. As the teapots were passed around, members took the opportunity to share their thoughts on the flavors and their own tea-drinking traditions. It was an excellent way to spark meaningful conversations and create bonds over shared stories.

And then there was dessert. Member Pam’s Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake was the undisputed star of the show. Its sweet and tangy flavors brought smiles all around and had everyone asking for seconds (and maybe even thirds!). It was the perfect way to round off an already wonderful afternoon.

But the true highlight of the event wasn’t the food or the tea—it was the sense of connection. Members engaged in conversations ranging from lighthearted and fun to deeply reflective, demonstrating the power of shared experiences to bring people closer together. The tea party wasn’t just a gathering; it was a celebration of community and care.

As the day came to a close, one thing was clear: this tea party was only the beginning. Members are already buzzing with excitement about the possibility of another gathering, and we can’t wait to see what ideas and contributions they’ll bring to the table next time.

At PHA Clubhouse, moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Events like the tea party aren’t just about the food or the activities—they’re about creating a space where members feel seen, heard, and valued. We’re incredibly proud of Brekke, Verda, and everyone who contributed to making this event a success. Here’s to many more afternoons of tea, togetherness, and wellness!
